Become a host with social media!

“It's not the events of our lives that shape us, but our beliefs as to what those events mean.” – Tony Robbins
The people here are planning to throw a Christmas bash soon. At the tea time, they all seemed to be very worried about the promotion of this event. Our community is a bunch of few but largely, happy and social people; and they wish to invite all the jolly souls to the party. It has to be happening and rocking, and it can only be so if it has a peppy crowd! While Mr. Not Social was blowing his old trumpet of advertizements in newspapers blah blah… My favorite Mr. Social talked sense and “twitter(ed)”about the social media!
However, many people were not convinced with his idea! But I was. Social media is the perfect platform to invite people to any event or any conference. Mr. Social nevertheless doesn’t know much about social media, but his suggestion is indeed worth giving a thought! I pondered over it and found out some ways that could help you promoting your event better!
Sir Robbins put it so rightly! It’s not the event that matters but what you put into it…It’s “you” in it, that really matters! So, make your event a more personalized space and warm-heartedly choose and invite the people you want to be a part of your show. Post the fan page creation, follow up with these to have the desired guests in your event.
1. Choose wisely
Be selective and careful in sending invites. You should know what kind of guests you would want to see in your space. So, filter people, know their profiles and start with the right choice!
2. “Be my guest!”
Give your viewers a perfect landing! Your welcome page speaks for you. So, make it bewitching! Be precise while giving your event a title. Nobody is interested in high-sounding words, they don’t reach your guests. Keep it simple and straightforward. Your welcome page must also mention the exact location to avoid the hassle of any more email or message directions. Spill the beans and let them know every detail of your event. Further, if you add a picture, it would definitely do wonders to your posts! Execute and count your eggs (Oops! Fans).
3. Help them to map you!
A map graphically helps your fans visit you without any trouble. They won’t get confused on the D-day. Use the Map-it Tab as a welcoming note for your guests. They’ll feel treasured and pampered if you guide them so warmly.
4. Poll once they are in!
Once your visitors have turned into your fans, make sure you conduct a poll. Creating the right kind of an environment (that they expect from you) is important. Or, if your event supports a cause, then the opinion is must. You never know your fans might turn out to be a storehouse of possible choices. Keep your windows open and keep polling till the event actualizes.

5. Customized videos
Create short videos wherein you describe your efforts and the events. Videos help making the information animated. The viewers grasp more from videos since it’s a more conversational feature. Give your actions some words and reach out to them with the Multi-Video Tab. Further, videos are more viral in their approach; since it draws attention to the unattended interested slot.
6. Updates are essential
How are you going to introduce your event to the public? Update your personal and professional networking accounts to inform them about your event. Also, once your event is in the air, you need to keep updating your event fan page in regular intervals. Commenting and ‘like(ing)’ is another essential you cannot afford to miss!
7. Receive the joint effort
Of course, you’re going to make two accounts, on Twitter and Facebook respectively. It’s understood that it’s difficult to maintain the two and keep them at pace at the same time. Tweets Tab will keep them both running in one go. Save time and keep your accounts ready with a click.
8. Come up with your reports
You can bring forth your presentations and other
event records to give an extra edge to your page. Use the Documents Tab and the Power Point Tab to give more credibility to your page. You can use your presentations from Slideshare and documents from Scribd as a testament for your event!
I can materialize Mr. Social’s plans now. Can you make your event a firework too?
Have a happy event!
